The aim of this workshop is to explore the concept of Blended Learning, to consider your current curriculum delivery and discover how Canvas can facilitate a more digital approach.

Intended Audience:
  • Module Convenors and Module Teams
  • Those responsible for development of module content

Overview

You will be introduced to the concept of Blended Learning and be given feature demostrations of specific Canvas tools. You will then explore the Viewpoints Approach to curriculum design identifying the 8 individual learner events to enhance student engagement. You will map your current teaching and learning activities within your module and discover new ideas and opportunities to Go Digital within your curriculum. Finally, map specific Canvas tools and features to help facilitate a move towards a more digital/blended curriculum.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop participants should be able to:

  • Understand the concept of Blended Learning
  • Utilise the 8 learner events outlined in the Viewpoints approach to Curriculum Design
  • Identify new opportunities for digital learning to embed within your curriculum
  • Determine tools & features within Canvas to facilitate a more digital/blended approach
